My 20th Birthday!

My 20th birthday was on Nov. 10th! Yippeeee I am no longer a teenager, although it feels weird to be this old! This was the first birthday of mine that me and Tyler have been able to spend together in 4 years! It was a great day and he spoiled me! We traveled about an hour and a half to a village called Darmstadt and went to Frankenstein's Castle. Yes it was the actual Frankenstein's castle, or at least the guy that the story of Frankenstein originated from. We watched an episode of Ghost Hunters where they went through this castle that is supposedly haunted, so it was pretty cool to know the story behind it and be where people thought they had heard or seen ghosts.

Frankenstein's Castle! It is mainly ruins now, but the chapel and two towers are still standing.

The entrance and walkways up to the castle.
The chapel. Many people claim to have heard and seen things inside of the chapel.

This is one of the statues inside the castle.
This is one of the towers still standing. It is said that there is a ghost inside of the tower that throws rock on people as they are walking under it because he is mad that they are at his castle. We didn't get hit with any rocks while we were walking under it, darn!

This is the other smaller tower. This is the lab where he would take the bodies that he had dug up and he would do experiments on them here.

Walking up to the laboratory tower.

Inside the lab where he dissected bodies and performed experiments and witch craft. It was a little bit creepy in there!

The view from the castle. It was super foggy that day which added nicely to the whole creepy effect of the castle!

After the castle we headed back towards home and stopped in Landstuhl to eat. We ate at the Cockpit Lounge which is like a really nice steak and schnitzel place. It was delicious! We then headed home and Tyler gave me my present and made me a cake! It was a wonderful birthday and I am so glad I got to spend it with Tyler. I'm the luckiest girl!

My present! I'm so excited for my mixer and can't wait to make lots of yummy food with it!

The chocolate cake with chocolate frosting that Ty made!

My boys singing me happy birthday! I love them! :)

Catch Up!

So I guess you could say I'm a major slacker when it comes to blogging! I'm clearly not very good at updating it. I'll try to get better at updating it with whats going on in our lives and with pictures of where we travel, but don't get your hopes up too high! ;) I'll do some catching up now with how our summer went and whats going on now that we are back in  Germany.

Tyler spent the summer at Lackland AFB in San Antonio Texas training to become a dog handler.

Tyler and his friends found a restaurant in San Antonio that served giant servings of food! Clearly by the look on Tyler's face he couldn't eat it all!
I love my goofy family! We found these awesome glasses in the bookstore after eating lunch with mom!
I loved being home and spending time with my family and Tyler's family. I was lucky enough to get to see and spend time with all of my sibling and his siblings while I was home! I am so blessed to be a part of such amazing families, I love them!
I also got to spend a lot of time with my best friend Kam! This is us at her cousins wedding.
I was also fortunate enough that my old boss let me work at the St. Anthony Homestead while I was home for a few short months. I loved working as a CNA there and taking care of the wonderful residents!

In August Tyler's parents were going to Texas to help Tyler's sister Courtney fly back to Houston and they invited me to go with them. Tyler flew down to Houston for the weekend so we could spend time with him. It was such a fun trip and I am very grateful for my amazing in-laws taking me with them so I could see and spend time with Tyler and his wonderful family.
While we were in Houston we went and saw the temple there, it was beautiful!

Tyler graduated k-9 school on the 11th of September and shortly after that we both flew back to Germany.

Tyler's graduating k-9 class. It's a little blurry because its a picture of a picture, be he is the one in the far right top corner.
We made it back to Germany just in time for fall. It is so beautiful here with all the many trees changing colors. We love it!

This is Tyler's dog and partner Sano. He lucked out and got one of the best dogs in the kennels. Sano is an extremely smart dog and listens great to Tyler. Sano will be Tyler's the whole time we are here in Germany and he will go with Ty on any deployments or missions.

We also just recently bought a second car. We bought this Ford KA as a little chaser car. It is definitely a German car, it is so small and funny looking, but we love it! We got a great deal on it and it gets great gas mileage which is nice for Tyler to drive back and forth from work.
